The Tsuchikage (土影; Literally meaning "Earth Shadow") is the leader ofIwagakure and thus recognised as the most powerful shinobi in the entire village. The Tsuchikage are known for holding true authority, having their shinobi obey every command without hesitation. There have been three Tsuchikage so far in the history of the village. Most of the buildings in this village are comprised of stone with the Tsuchikage residing in the tallest one which has a cone-shaped roof. The building also bears the kanji for Tsuchi (土; Literally meaning "Earth").

First Tsuchikage

Second Tsuchikage
Main article: MūMū (無, Mū) was the Second Tsuchikage (二代目土影, Nidaime Tsuchikage; Literally meaning "Second Earth Shadow") of Iwagakure.
Third Tsuchikage
Main article: ŌnokiŌnoki (オオノキ, Ōnoki; Viz "Ohnoki"), renowned as "Ōnoki of Both Scales"(両天秤のオオノキ, Ryōtenbin no Ōnoki; English TV "Ohnoki the Fence-Sitter"), is the Third Tsuchikage (三代目土影, Sandaime Tsuchikage; Literally meaning "Third Earth Shadow")[2] of Iwagakure.
Trivia
- Two of the three Tsuchikage have been known to use underhanded tactics to ensure prosperity for their village, in times of alliances and peace. Due to this, the remaining great shinobi villages frown upon Iwagakure and its shinobi.
- All Tsuchikage have displayed the ability to fly.
